I received your letter of the 1st Instan
with the different Rolls therein mentioned.
The receipt roll for Pay of yoursel
Detachment for May 1797 is examined, and the am
Three hundred and forty three Dollars will be carr
your Credit on the Books of this Office.
After deducting five Dollars overpaid
in the 2d Pay Roll of your Detachment for June 179[7]
the amount of Subsistence of your & Mr Osborn's Waiters[,]
they must receive in kind from the Contractors, you
receive the amount, being Three hundred and seven
Dollars and eighty three Cents from Nicholas Fish
on giving him the necessary receipts holding yours
accountable.
