Supervisor New York Accountants Office July 8^th 1797 Sir The Treasurer of the United States will remit you the sum of Three hundred & seventy two dollars and eighty three cents which you will be pleased to pay to Captain Frederick Frye at Governors Island, taking his duplicate receipts holding him accountable for the same, being for Pay and Subsistence of himself, Pay Subsistence and Forage of Samuel Osborne, Surgeons Mate, and the Pay of the Detachment under his command for the month of June 1797. You will also receive a further sum of Ninety [undecipherable] thro the same channel, which you will please to pay Frederick Sprig assistant Military Storekeeper at W[undecipherable] taking likewise the necessary receipts for the same being for his Salary for April, May, and June 1797. The receipt roll for Pay of yourself [and] Detachment for May 1797 is examined, and the am[ount of] Three hundred and forty three Dollars will be carri[ed to] your Credit on the Books of this Office. After deducting five Dollars overpaid in the Pay Roll of your Detachment for June 1797 & the amount of Subsistence of your & M^r. Osborne's Waiters they must receive in kind from the Contractors, you will receive the amount, being Three hundred and seventy Dollars and eighty three Cents from Nicholas Fish Es[qr] on giving him the necessary receipts holding yourself accountable.
