You will be pleased to inform the Senecas, that as soon as I shall receive from Captain Bruff or officer commanding at Niagara, their communications, expressing a desire to fell a part of their land (and which I stated, particularly in a speech to Cornplanter, when in Philadelphia, on the 3 of March ult^o to be the mode of application) that their father the President will permit a treaty to be held, and send a proper person to attend it, to see that no advantage be taken of his children in this tranfaction. Agreeably to your request, M^r Parish has received one hundred and twenty five dollars, due you for your last quarters Salary — He has also received his own, as Indian interpreter.
