Sir,
I have received your letter of the 16th instant accompanied by the News Papers & three letters, viz. One addressed to Col° Lyseant, one to the Q.M.G. and one to Col° Kealy and also one to Lieut Mr McClellan, all of which shall go forward without delay.
On the first of this Month all the provisions on hand at this post and forts thereon depending was, agreeably to arrangements made by the Secretary of the Treasury delivered to the Contractors Agents and I am endeavoring to bring the Commissary business to a close as soon as possible. By this mail you will receive three packets viz. 1 containing Vouchers of Provision Issues at Pittsburg for October, November & December 1796 accompanied by abstracts. N° 2. containing Vouchers for Issues at Franklin from July to December 1796 inclusive of N° 3 Captain's Vouchers of Issues at some posts from January to May 1797 inclusive also accompanied by abstracts and a return of Receipts and Issues during these periods at Franklin.
