West Point June 19th 1797
Sir,
Enclosed is a statement of my Recruiting account, & my account current with the United States, from March 1796 to June 1797, together with the vouchers for the same.
I take liberty to return you the account of Store Nicholas against Lieut Budworth & the letter to her on the subject. The dividend on this account, had it been remitted would have been so trifling, that I thought it better to defer it. There is a probability, that some of the Creditors here whose demands are not satisfied will take out letters of administration to recover the arrears due at your office. In which case Mrs. Nicholas demand might be again brought forward.
I am with due respect,
Sir,
your very obedt servant
