Sir
Inclosed you have remarks made on the exami-
nation of the different Vouchers lately transmitted by
you to this Office for your government in settling
the different delinquents By these remarks you will
perceive the following Officers have to account for
Balances opposed to their names, which they are
to do you, as you will see by the inclosed letters to
which after perusing you will be pleased to seal &
cause to be delivered.
Thomas Pasteur Capt 1 Regt accot inclosed him — [undecipherable]

Andrew Shanklin Lt 3d do
Bernard Gaines Capt 1 do
Ephraim Kibby . Spies — — — —
Yelverton Peyton Enso 1 Regt
Total amount Dollars [undecipherable]
I should hope they will readily comply with [my]
request as the impropriety of having Public monies [for a]
length of time in the hands of Officers must be evident [to]
them[strikethrough: selves] as well as to yourselves: at any event after
them to account for their respective balances, I [shall be]
glad to be informed as soon possible what satisfaction [I]
have been able to obtain from each of them.
Lt John Bowyers recruiting account has undergone
examination and the balance as stated by you to
him, ten dollars, is found to be just.
I have to request your attention to have the
defect in the receipts mentioned in the remarks, remedied
and to guard against similar ones in future.
with respect & Wm Simm[ons]
