[39] War Office June 11^th 1797 Sir, I have the honor to communicate herewith the several Statements, and Estimates necessary, the present state of the Frigates [undecipherable] States, [undecipherable], and [undecipherable]. On Colum— all of the Money which will be required to complete the said Frigates. One estimate shewing the Frontier service which will be necessary for the pay and provisioning, [undecipherable] Officers, & [undecipherable] for Twelve Months. One Estimate of the probable value of the articles on Hand, [undecipherable] or [undecipherable] exhibiting the articles more or less dispensed. It being be proper to observe on the several Estimates that [undecipherable] it is not possible to estimate to certainty in such Calculations, especially where the Hands are built at so great a distance from each other without improving considerable [undecipherable], it is nevertheless expected from the care that has been taken in forming, I that it will be found to approximate pretty soon the real amounts which it may be [undecipherable] to expend for these [undecipherable]. I may also be noticed that the amount of Pay and [undecipherable], which is founded, on the act of Congress of the 27 of May 1794 may require to be [undecipherable] from in some particulars.
