Accountants Office June 13th 1797 Mr. Ephraim Kibby Late Capt. of mounted spies Sir On the examination of the Pay & Receipt Rolls of the Company of mounted spies lately commanded by you there appears to be a balance of one hundred & twenty nine Dollars remaining in your hands, being the pay of Sergeant Arch Gray not receipted, I have to request you will be pleased to refund this sum [to] Caleb Swan Esqr Pay Mr Genl to the Troops of the United [States] and to transmit his receipt for the same to exoner[ate] you on the Books of this office.
