[Letter from William Simmons dated 10^th June 1799. —] Department of War Accountants Office June the 10^th 1799 Sir You will receive enclosed Abstract of articles purchased by Ebenezer Stevens Esq^r Agent for the War Department, in the Month of March 1799, for the Amount of which he will receive a Credit on the Books of this Office — The Vouchers for the articles purchased being signed by the Superintendent or Quarter Master, as evidences of their delivery on Governors Island, you will judge how far the said Ebenezer Stevens is to be held accountable for the same on the books of the Superintendent of Military Stores.
