Pittsburg 9.^th June 1797 Sir I have by this days Mail received your three Letters, Viz of the 25^th & 26^th ultimo and one of the 2^d instant with their several enclosures to all of which I shall pay particular attention. Your letter of the 25^th covered four cash invoices of Indian Goods Viz Miami, Shawanee, Chippewa & Ottawa and the Cash invoice of Wyandot goods was previously received. A part of these Goods have arrived and a part I presume are yet on the Way. The enclosed Memorandum will shew you how that business stands at present. On the 8^th instant I found it necessary to draw on you at ten days sight, viz in favor of Alexander Addison for 400 dollars Value on favor of Anderson Cochran for 700 dollars, which sums be pleased to pay and charge to that Estimate. At the particular request of my friend Captain John Heth I have to beg of you to take the trouble of presenting and obtaining payment of his draft on the accountant in which you will find enclosed for 160 dollars and of applying that sum to purchase the several Articles mentioned in the Memorandum accompanying the draft and of sending them forward as early as possible. The letter addressed to William Simmons transmitted herewith contains advice of the above draft. I have enquired of Mr. Barker respecting Merchandise transmitted to this place by Mr. Elintock the Waggoner and am informed that at the time of the arrival of the Waggon Mr. Charles Greene having a law then pending at Pittsburg for Charlotta took charge of the Merchandise from the waggoner. Mr. Barker therefore says that Mr. Greene & Mr. Woods Bridge are the only persons that can give information on the business.
