The Rolls of Captain [undecipherable: probable reading Bissell's] Company are not all yet come to hand but are shortly expected together with the accounts of Pay of Lieutenant Martin, Ensign Rose:-crantz and Doctor Wallace. These Officers being arranged in different Corps from that of the Troops doing duty at at the upper posts are paid on personal Accounts
Your letter of the 19th ultimo, enclosing an open letter addressed to [undecipherable] an account against, Daniel McClare, arrived at this place in my absence and to which the necessary attention has been paid; but as M. McClare now resides upwards of fifty Miles from this place I am not yet able to give you a satisfactory account of the situation of his Affairs but am apprehensive that he is in [undecipherable] Circumstances.
You will find the Rolls accompanied by a schedule of their several Amounts together with an estimate of Pay and Forage for May 1797 the amount seven hundred and thirty dollars
