On settlement of Joseph Whipple's account at this Office as agent for mounting Cannon in Portsmouth New Hampshire, there appears a balance due from him to the United States of Sixty four dollars and Seventy four Cents.
As he has rendered accounts at the Treasury for settlement, I have to request that you will give directions to have that balance transfered to his account on the Books of the Treasury, and have me furnished with a Certificate to that effect that I may close his account on the Books of this Office.
