Greaton Accountants Office Boston May 15^th 1797 Sir I received your letter of the 1^st Inst: enclo[sing] your a/c for Pay & Subsistence for April amounting to 53[undecipherable] Dollars, and John Ramsays order in your favor for his Pa[y] for January, February, March & April 1797 amounting [to] 16 Dollars; both which sums as well as the sum of 80 Do[llars] being for two months pay in advance you will receive from Jonathan Jackson Esq^r. Supervisor Boston on giv[ing] him duplicate Receipts for each sum. You will be indulged with relinquishm[ent] of 20 Dollars per month from your monthly pay: the payment of which will take place at this Office [on] your power of Attorney [strikethrough: of Attorney], when you forward[ing?] the proper Certificate of the Paymaster of his having deducted the amount from your pay on the Rolls.
