Sir
I received your letter of the 5th Inst. with
a Bundle of Muster & Pay Rolls & accounts, which shall be placed under examination & the result will be communicated to you.
It is as yet undetermined whether Lt
Polhemus will be allowed the Six months pay & Subsistance
allowed to Deranged Officers, should it however take
place he appears largely indebted to the Public, which
of course will first be deducted. If then there should appear
any Balance due him you may rely on a stoppage taking place
to cover your advance.
