Accountants Office May 11th 1797 Daniel Stevens Esqr. Supervisor, Charleston. South Carolina Sir The Treasures of the United States will remit you the sum of Thirteen Thousand Three Hundred and Eighty five dollars, to be paid to John Habersham Esqr. Collector of the Customs at Savannah Thirteen Thousand dollars of which are for the Pay and Forage of the Regular Troops in Georgia up to the 31st March 1797, and the balance of Three Hundred and Eighty five Dollars, for the amount of the Account of Captain A.Y. Nicholl for medical assistance from 15th. October 1792 to the 31" December 1795. for which sum be pleased to obtain the necessary Receipts, and forward them in the usual form. Mr. Habersham being placed in the situation of Major Freeman as Agent of the War Department in his absence. he will take measures to obtain the money in the usual way and you will be pleased to give immediate information to him on the Receipt of the money I am &c. Wm Simmons Acct.,
