West Point May 9^th 1797. Sir I have received your letter of the 1^st Inst. enclosing the returns of Clothing delivered to sundry detachements on account of the Corps of artⁿ & Eng. during the months of april last; that part which was sent to my direction here, has arrived the day before yesterday and has been received by the Quarter M^r of the Corps. The articles of private property which you took the trouble of forwarding to me from Phila to the Care of M^r Smith at New York have come to hand. the freight &ca have been paid on the Delivery of the Same — please to receive my thanks for your kind attendance to my request.
