I have to acknowledge the Receipt of your fav.r of the 25 April and when the Vouchers come forward shall attend to them — I wrote to Captain John Piece on the subject of your claim against him and forwarded the letter you wrote him, he accordingly authorized me to pay the amount of your draft of Two Hundred dollars to M.rs Wilkinson and directed that I might charge the same to his account of P— I therefore waited on her immediately and paid her the money, she was well and said she would write to you by to days mail. Inclosed is a letter from Captain Pierce. Sam.so

The first account you will please to pay out [fanappropriate] of any monies in your hands — The last is of a nature unprecidented here — In cases where Soldiers have done any duty of this kind they have been excused from doing military
