In answer to which I have to inform you that the payment was made on the 6^th February last to John Davis Merchant of this City Attorney to Charles Green, Substitute to Col^s [undecipherable] Attorney to the Scouts aforesaid. Greartons for fifty Three dollars ⁷⁰/₁₀₀, the other of George Claghorne for Five Hundred Dollars both of which will be entered to your Credit on the Books of this Office. By this days mail I forward duplicate of the Accountants letter to Cap^t Sever on the 26 Dec^r relative to the 225 ⁷⁰/₁₀₀ D^rs remaining in your hands uncalled for by him. I am respectfully &c.
