In the absence of the Accountant I have to acknowledge [strikethrough: the] Receipt of your letter of the 7th Inst. covering Captn Michael Halteison's Receipt for Seven hundred & eight Dollars, which sum is passed to the credit of your account on the Books of this Office.
The thirty nine dollars & fifty two [cents] deducted from your quarterly accounts, thro' mistake, was transmitted you the 7th Inst. by the Treasurer of the United States you will therefore be pleased to forward the necessary Voucher to close that transaction.
