It appears to be most to the Interest of the U.S. that the Storehouse belonging to the public in the Navy Yard should remain in its present State provided the proprietor of the ground on which it Stands will permit it to remain for a moderate nominal Compensation. you will be pleased to inform me as early as possible of his terms that proper measures may be immediately taken.
