You stand charged on the Books of this Office with Four Thousand Nine hundred, Seventy one Dollars thirty three Cents, which sum was paid you by Caleb Swan Esqr Paymaster to the Troops of the United States in the year 1792, being for the Pay and Subsistence of a company of Mounted cavalry, under your Command for the payment of which sum to the Individuals of said Company, you are held accountable.
I have therefore to request no time may be lost in forwarding, the Receipts of the Officers & Privates for payments made them, that I may be enabled to post the Amount to the Credit of your Account, your immediate attention thereto is the more necessary from the length of time elapsed, since you received the money.
