Blue L^t of Dragoons Accountants Office Fort Fidius April 13^th 1797 Georgia Sir Your order in favor M^r James Cumming for your Pay, Subsistence & Forage, and for Subsisting your Waiter for January February and March 179[7] came to hand this day, and on examination of the [same] I find an error of 1 dollar in the addition, which ha[s] been deducted, as well as the sum of 13^oo dollars; [for] the charge for subsisting your Waiter which cann[ot] be paid from this department, agreeably to a late [undecipherable] direction from the Secretary of War; but the Sol[dier] must draw his Ration in kind, agreeably to Law; leaving the sum of One hundred & Twenty three Dol[lars] which will be paid to M^r Cumming accordingly.
