Sir, Enclosed is Capt Sam^d Nicholson's receipt for 334 ⁷⁰/₁₀₀ Dollars, paid him this day agreeably to your letter of the 31 of March last. — There are also enclosed, John Boyants order as Deputy Commissary of military Stores dated the 6^th instant in favor of William Smith, and his receipt upon the same dated the 10^th instant for 238 ⁷⁰/₁₀₀ Dollars — paid agreeably to your letter of 9^th February last — And another receipt from said Smith in behalf of said Boyant, for the same [undecipherable: same] (dated March 18^th 1797.) taken in the form prescribed by the Treasury — [strikethrough: this last receipt was dated the 18^th of March,] in conformity to a check upon the books here, make out at that time. — I am Sir, your obed^t Serv^t Jon^a Jackson Will^m Simmons Esq^r Accountant.
