Sir
In answer to your letter of the 25th ultimo enclosing the account of Mr Graves, I have to inform you that the account should pursue the same course of liquidations that his former settlements have — I find on examination of Major Bedingers account that he has paid him in full to a certain period, from which, to the date of his discharge agreeably to the Certificate of the Secy of Wars <Bks>, he ought to be paid by Major Bedinger as he best can judge of the propriety of the charge as well as of Monies Credited — I therefore return the account to you to present to him, and should he not have sufficient funds in his hands, you will then obtain his certificate to the account of the monies paid to Mr Graves by him and forward the account to this Office — when a settlement will take place. I am &c.
