Sir
I have received your letter of the 31st Ultimo respecting the Claims of the Militia of Gallipolis for provisions not furnished them whilst in the Service of the U. S. Doctor Petiet agent for them acting That Business has been here and with whom I have made a settlement for all the provisions not furnished claimed for one Captain two Ley[?] two Corporals & 26 privates taken into Service by order of the Secy of War dated 17 July 1795 their Service commencing the 10th of August 1795 Termining the 10 February 1796 being then discharged. The Doctors Claim of Compensation for deficiency of Provision previous to [undecipherable] rate I have agreeable to letter refused to settle.
