Accountants Office April 7^th 1797 Sir I received your letter of the 1^st inst enclosing your V^o for compensation for January, February & March 1797 amounting to Two hundred and Twenty five dollars, which sum you will receive from Daniel Stephens Esq^r Supervisor Charleston on giving him duplicate receipts therefor. Daniel Stephens Esq^r Supervisor Charleston Accountants Office April 7^th 1797 Sir I received your letter of the 24^th ultt. and on a re-examination of your account for the quarter ending the 31^st December 1796, I find that the clerk, who reported thereon, committed an error of Thirty Nine dollars & 7⁵⁰., which when rectified and will be remitted you by the Treasurer of the United States, as well as the Sum of Two hundred & Twenty five dollars, which you will please to pay to Augusta DeGrasse, Sub Engineer at Charleston, and take his duplicate Receipts therefor being for his compensation from 1^st January to 31^st March 1797.
