I received your letter of the 24th ultt. and on a re-examination of your account for the quarter ending the 31st December 1796, I find that the clerk who reported thereon, committed an error of Thirty Nine dollars & [undecipherable], which when rectified and will be remitted you by the Treasurer of the United States, as well as the sum of Two hundred & Twenty five dollars, which you will please to pay to Augusta DeGrasse, Sub Engineer at Charleston, and take his duplicate Receipts therefor, being for his compensation from 1st January to 31st March 1797.
