West Point, March 31^st 1797. Sir I have received your letter of the 25^th inst[ant]. Inclose you my account current of this date with the United St[ates]. stating there is now in my hands a balance of Nine Hundred, Seventy Six Dollars, Seventy Five Cents. The vouchers which is accompany the Acc^t. As the time of enlistment will this summer expire to several of the men. at this garrison, I would request to be informed if it is understood I shall pay them up to the day of their discharge.
