I received your letter of the 24th Inst and now have to inform you that the bearer hereof Lieutenant John Lovell has charge of the sum of Five thousands Dollars for the Pay of the Troops on the upper posts of the Ohio for five Months so as to compleat their pay to the end of this Month — this sum you will apply accordingly as soon as possible, and give your Receipts to Mr Lovell for the amount.
I sometime since mentioned to you my wish of receiving from you Monthly Estimates of the Pay of the Troops in your Quarter I beg leave to repeat it.
