On examination of the accounts transmitted to this Office by Caleb Swan in the Year 1794 I find a Balance due the United States by you of Sixteen Hundred fifty eight Dollars and fifty eight cents as pr statement herewith, which sum is posted to your Debit on the Books of this Office. — I am &c.

You will receive from Edward Car=rington Esqr Supervisor at Richmond the sum of Four hun=dred and Seventy seven Dollars and seven cents, being fo[r] the Pay of the Troops under your command from 1 Nov. 1793 to 31st January 1797 inclusive for which you will plea[se] to grant him your duplicate receipts for the due appli=cation of the same. You have herewith a Receipt Roll inclosed, to which you will obtain the necessary signat[ures] which when done you will forward to this Office to exonera[te] you from the charge that will be made against you when Mr Carrington transmits your Receipt.
