[429] inform you that Ten thousand Dollars you are to deliver to Caleb Swan P.M.G. on account of the Pay of the Army. The remaining Twenty thousand Dollars are intended for five months pay of the Troops ordered to march to the Southward — and is to be delivered to the said Paymaster General or in his absence to the Paymaster of the fourth Regiments. I have accordingly given directions to them individually how to apply that sum, and to furnish me with the necessary receipts to exhonorate you upon the charge on the Books of this Office — One of those receipts as well as that for the delivery of the Ten thousand Dollars you will be pleased to forward to the Office accordingly.
