Sir, The Comptroller being absent, it becomes my duty to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of the 17^th instant with statements of [strikethrough: the accompts respectively of] Abraham Hunt, Elias B: Dayton and John Hopkins, as they now stand and remain open in the Books of your Office.— I have obtained from the Register of the Treasury (and which are enclosed) Certificates shewing that the monies for which Abraham Hunt & Elias B: Dayton still stand charged on your Books, have been fully accounted for by them in sundry settlements made at the Treasury, and that John Hopkins has been charged on the Books of the Treasury, for the monies with which he still remains debited on your books as aforesaid; in consequence of which it will be [strikethrough: expedient,] that the [strikethrough: accompts] of Abraham Hunt, Elias B: Dayton and John Hopkins respectively, as exhibited in the Statements above referred to, should be closed on the Books of your Office.— I am Sir, very respectfully, your obed^t Servant, David Rawn B_y Clk^o.
