I received your letters of the 16th Inst. one of them enclosing Capt. Richd H. Greaton's Receipt for One hundred & fifteen Dollars & 70/100 which sum will be posed to your credit on the Books of this Office: — the acknowledging the Receipt of 32[undecipherable] Dollars from the Treasurer of the United States, being the amount of your Commissions on receiving & paying monies from this Department between 27th July & 17th December 1796.
Whenever monies are transmitted by the Treasurer of the United States on A/c of the War Department, you receive information thereof from this Office denoting expressly the particulars of the Warrants; from which you are to form your account Current. I am &c.
