Pittsburg 17. March 1797
Sir
The Packet of news papers came to hand this day by Post as usual and accompanied by your short letter of the 10. instant. You will find this accompanied by a general Return of Commissary Stores for the three last Months of the year 1796 at this post. The Vouchers of Issues should also have been transmitted this day had Colo Butler not been prevented from counting any a few returns by the indisposition of Mrs Butler who is now dangerously ill. I have this day drawn on you in favor of Stephen Seager at ten days sight for 300 dollars, which I hope you will be enabled by the New appropriation to pay by the time it becomes due.
I am, Sir your obt Hb St
Samuel Hodgdon Esq.
Philadelphia.
