Supervisors Office
March 16th 1797.—
Sir
The Treasurer of the United States remitted a draught under date of the 9th instant in which was included the sum of Thirty two dollars $87/100 being the amount of my commissions on receiving and paying monies for the war Department between the 27.th July & 17.th December 1796.— as mentioned in your letter of the 9th ulto. In that letter you enclosed me a form of an account current for any future Statements— and in that form is an injunction (here insert the particulars of the Warrant)— I presume however you must be sensible that those warrants never come into my hands, and that all I know of them are their numbers & sums—
The Statement of the account I last sent you was according to a form found in the office of my predecessor.—
John Bryant has never yet appeared or sent for the money remitted for him & mentioned in your letter above referred to of the 9th ulto.
I am Sir,
your obd t Servt
