Sir, I have received your letters of the 9^th and 10^th instant, with an inclosure in the latter of an amendment to the act to ascertain and fix the military establishment. I have communicated the contents of your letter of the 9^th to the commandant at West Point, who will himself write on the subject of Lieutenant Dransy's adjutancy. I now transmit you the muster and pay roll for the [strikethrough: month of February 1797 of the corps at] this garrison. This roll is accompanied by a certificate, made out in the manner you have directed, of the artillers employed at West Point. From some of the artilicers I have been ordered to deduct out of their neph. pay due, fines to which they have been condemned by sentences of courts martials. vizt.
