I received your letter dated the 5 Instant, and have agreeably to your request, taken proper measures to have the second payment, that appears to be due, transmitted to Portsmouth without loss of time —
You will find enclosed a Plan for the Gundeck of the Frigate which will also guide you for Stationing the Beams of the lower deck —
The draught of the Sheer plan will be sent as soon as it can be finished —

The 24 pounders cast at Hope Furnace for your Ship being ready for proving, I have ordered 24 pound Shot round to Providence for that purpose, and have written to Mr Brown to notify you when your Attendance will be necessary to see them proved —
I have therefore to request you will repair to Hope Furnace on his informing you of every thing being ready, and in conjunction with Capt Pierce examine, and pass receipts for such of the Cannon as shall stand proof, and are suitable for service —
I have enclosed you Copies of Instructions to Capt Pierce and Mr DaCosta for your information —
