Your letter of the 5th instant accompanied by the News Papers is received together with a letter addressed to Col. W. Sergeant which I have an opportunity of forwarding this day.
James Hamilton arrived on the 7th with two Waggons loaded with Stores for several Officers of the Army those addressed to Col. Hamtrack [undecipherable] Swan were shiped same day for Presque Isle via French Creek and those addressed to the other Officers are this day shipped for Fort Washington. Hamilton as usual [undecipherable] had [undecipherable] of cash. I have advanced him 40 dollars for which his Receipt is enclosed which sum you will please to [undecipherable] in settlement of his carriage account — He desires me to inform you that he will be [undecipherable] on the 22nd instant with Price Waggons in which he requests you to provide lading.

he pleased to have it printed and put into the Hands of some proper person at Trenton in Jersey for delivery.
He hopes that the appropriation has taken place and an [undecipherable]. Be pleased to send your man with the letter addressed to Mrs. Elizabeth McLan in Race Street — It encloses 25 dollars. And be pleased to hand to Col. O'Hara the letter addressed to him — It covers Mr Gen. Butler's Letter of Attorney for drawing the Interest of the public debt.
The Report mentioned to you in my last of Mr Hanegan & Lt Underwood having perished on the Allegheny River is happily found to be false.
