I have called on Capt DeBatts by let: of the 8th Inst: a duplicate of which I have since sent to him requesting him to attend at this Office for the purpose of settling his accounts & refunding a large sum of money remaining in his hands — to which he has not paid the least attention. — As I understand that he has received a furlough, and intends leaving Town shortly, I have to request that you will be pleased to enforce my demand by one from you before that takes place.
