Pittsburg 3^d March 1797 Sir You will find this accompanied by a Return of advance Quarter Master and Hospital Stores together with Cloathing and Indian Goods at this post up to 1^st of January 1797 together with Stores on hand at Fort Franklin, LeBœuf & Presque'isle the 31^st of December 1796. Since which the only alterations that have taken place have been in sending forward the Chicsaw Indian Goods, a few packages of Cloathing, and 30 barrels of Whiskey to Fort Washington. A Report of Common Stores on hand at this post the 1^st of March 1797 and at Fort Franklin LeBœuf and Presque'isle on the 1^st Feb^y is also herewith enclosed — Since which the Contractor has sent forward a considerable supply of provisions to the upper Posts. My letter of the 24. ult. was accompanied by a Plan and Estimate of Barracks proposed at Presque'isle for the better accommodation of the Garrison of that Post And as it is of importance that any buildings intended at that place be carried on in the beginning of the summer I have therefore to request instructions as early as possible respecting the business.
