James Casey Certificate concerning a mare that was rode by the Creek Indians
Document 1797Certification by Casey that John Rogers, interpreter for Creek Chiefs on the route to Philadelphia had a black mare which he owned. Mare was ridden by Indians and left at Lancaster. When Casey arrived back at Lancaster, it was either stolen or strayed away.

John Rogers Interpreter for the Creek Chiefs =on their route to Philadelphia had a black Mare of his own property and which mare. was rode by the Indians and left with other Indian Horses at Lancaster. that, on our return from Philadelphia, I mentioned to the Secretary of War. that. Said mare should be continued in Service In the his reply_was; that she must; as the Public had to pay the expense and that said Rogers— should be paid for his service back_.
