You stand charged on the Books of this Office with One Thousand Dollars received by you of William Knox & your Receipt dated 18th June 1792. being for Pay of Waggon hire to Pittsburgh & Rifles, for which sum you have not forwarded the necessary Vouchers to enable me to credit your account for the same, I have therefore to Request you will as soon as possible transmit to this Office your account of expenditures accompanied with the necessary Vouchers - that the same may undergo an examination, & if found right pass to your account in the Books of this Office, from the length of time elapsed since you received the money renders it highly necessary that an immediate settlement should take place I am &c.
