Congress Department of War Accountants Office Febuary 21th. 1797 Sir You stand charges on the Books of this Office with a considerable sum of Money received in the year 1791 for pay of the Militia sc. of Kenhawa County, Virginia you are therefore requested to forward without delay the ne- cessary Vouchers, that the different sums paid by you /if admintable/ may be taxed to your Credit and the Balance if any remains in your hands, be paid to the Treasurer of the United States to close your account, the length of time elapsed since you received the money, makes it highly necessary a settlement should immediately take place ___ I am Yg, Wm Simmons Acct.
