[A letter from the Sec^y of War. dated 21.^st Feb^y 1797 Rec^d. 22.^d — Indian Annuities to be had in readiness. —] War Office 21 February 1797 Sir I received your letter of the 14th instant stating the propriety of an early attention to pack up the Goods necessary for the Indians to the amount of their respective Annuities for the present year. I assent to your proposal, and now inclose you a Statement of the sums due to them; You will observe there is a deduction from the Annuities of the Chickasaw and Cherokee Nations, in which you will govern yourself accordingly.
