Michael Kalteisen Fort Johnson S: Carolina         Sir         I received your letter of the 2^d Ultimo with its enclosures — The Receipt roll of your Detachment for Sep^t. and October 1796 amounting to four hundred & thirty six dollars has been examined and will be passed to your credit on the Books of this Office. —         The Pay Roll for November and December 1796 has also been examined, and after deducting the pay of Frederick Dalcho, Surgeons Mate, Michael Upton private and Lawrence Courtney deceased agreeably to the remarks on the enclosed Receipt Roll amounts to seven hundred & Eight Dollars, which sum you will receive from Daniel Stephens Esq^r.
