Sir My letter of the 3^d instant I presume must have informed you of the decease of Red Pole the Shawanees Chief for the loss of whom the other Indians are much concerned. I had prepared a boat to carry them to Fort Washington and as soon as the River was navigable, viz on the 8^th [strikethrough: instant] they embarked in charge of Cap.
