Herewith you will receive Letters for the following Officers, Vizt Colo J F Hamtramck, Major J Shaylor, Captains, Z Pike, W Faulkner, I Guion I Bowyer Lieutenants A Gray, P Pope, & Robert Purdy who stand charged on the Books of this Office with several sums of Money paid them a long time since, for the expen aditure thereof, I have not received any account or Voucher and being anxious to close all accounts of long standing, I having to request you will as speedily as possible, — transmit them agreeable to their Superscriptions, —

Your Letter of the 3d Inst. has ena= bled me to make out the Payroll of your Detachment to 31st January 1797 amounting to One thousand and fifty six dollars 22/100, which sum you will receive from Edward Carrington Esqr Supervisor of Virginia, on giving him duplicate Receipts for the due application thereof. You will also receive from him the further sum of One hundred & seven dollars 45/100 being the amount of your Pay and subsistence for November & December 1796 for which you will likewise give him duplicate Receipts and
