Cap^t Zeadiah Rogers N° 266 Pearl Street, N York [Duplicate Sent 16 May 1797] [Triplicate Sent 24 May 1797] Sir Department of War Accountants Office 13 February 1797 In answer to your Letter of the 10^th Inst. received this morning, I have had the account you therein mention search'd for, and find only a rough sketch of your Account Current with the memorandum on the back "that the fair settlement had been taken by you to qualify"; as many of the Vouchers were insufficient, that account has not yet been returned— Herewith you will receive a statement of your Account Current, balance due you Four Dollars & 24 Cents, which you will please examine, and if found free of error, qualify, and return to this Office, at the same time authorize some person to receive the Balance, that your account may be closed, expecting to hear from you shortly.
