I received your letter of the 1st inst &
in answer thereto have to inform you, that William
Allen has been paid to the 1st September 1796, from
which period his pay may be received at this Office

On examination of your accounts &
Vouchers transmitted to this Office by Mr Swan the
Receipt of William Boyastone for his Bounty charged by
you in your Account Current is wanting; if you are
in possession of the said receipt you will please to for-
ward it as soon as possible, if not, it will be necessary
before the amount can be passed to your Credit in
the Books of this Office, that you attest before a Ma-
gistrate your having actually paid the said Bounty
and forward such attestation.
You stand charged with considerable sums
of money on the Books of this Office received a long
time since, I have to request you will as speedily
as possible forward your account & Vouchers to account
for the same either by producing the necessary
Vouchers or refunding the Balance to the Treasurer
of the United States that your account may be
closed
