On examination of the last settlement you made at this Office I find your Pay & Subsistence has been paid to the 1^st of November 1796 consequently you were right in your recollection as to the time. I have directed all letters which remains in the Post Office for you to be forwarded to Pittsburgh there are none in this Department for you. The necessity of the money for the Army being conveyed to the Pay Master General must be well known to you. Stephen Morrison of (Kentucky) and the Pay Master paid it to him on the certificate instead
