Your accounts which were suspended when you was here on account of a want of Vouchers still remains in the same situation notwithstanding your promise to forward them on your arrival at the Army, they have never come hand, as it is a desirable thing to have these Accounts of so long a standing settled and entered on the Books of this Office I have again to request you will lose no time in forwarding the Vouchers that your Accounts may be closed — I am &c

You stand charged on the Books of this Office with large sums of money which you received in advance and remain unaccounted for. I have therefore to request you will without any unnecessary delay, transmit your accounts and vouchers to this Office for your expenditures if any, and refund the balance which may be found due the United States, this measure is the more necessary on account of the length of time elapsed since you received the money, and I hope will have due weight with you, your early attention to this object is particularly requested
